# Stake PGX

Staking **PGX** lets you earn a share of the revenue PrigeeX generates. When people trade
on PrigeeX, the platform collects fees, and a large portion of that revenue is paid out
to people who stake PGX. In short: **stake PGX, earn a cut of the platform's income.**

## How it works, simply

1. Traders swap on PrigeeX and pay trading fees.
2. A share of those fees is collected by the platform as revenue.
3. That revenue is converted into PGX and distributed: **70% goes to PGX stakers**, and
30% goes to the PrigeeX treasury.
4. As a staker, you earn PGX rewards in proportion to how much you've staked.

The more PGX you stake and the more the platform is used, the more you earn.

## Before you start

* Your wallet is [connected](../getting-started/connect-to-prigeex) and on Arbitrum One
* You hold some **PGX** tokens
* You have a little **ETH** for the network fee

## How to stake

1. Go to the **Staking** page.
2. You'll see your current **staked balance**, your **unclaimed rewards**, and the current
**APY** (an estimate of your annualized return).
3. Enter the amount of PGX you want to stake.
4. If it's your first time, **Approve** PGX in your wallet (one-time).
5. Click **Stake** and **confirm** in your wallet.

## Claiming your rewards

* Your rewards accrue automatically as platform revenue is distributed.
* Click **Claim** any time to send your earned PGX rewards to your wallet.
* You can **claim without unstaking**: your staked balance keeps earning.

## Unstaking

* There is **no lock-up period**. You can unstake at any time.
* Enter the amount to unstake, confirm in your wallet, and your PGX returns to you.
* Unstaking and claiming are independent: you can do either whenever you want.

## What the numbers mean

* **Staked balance**: how much PGX you currently have staked (also shown in USD).
* **Unclaimed rewards**: PGX you've earned but not yet claimed.
* **APY**: an *estimate* of the annualized return based on recent revenue. It's not
fixed or guaranteed; it rises and falls with how much trading happens on PrigeeX.
* **Protocol-wide stats**: total PGX staked, number of stakers, and total rewards
distributed, so you can see the bigger picture.

<Note>
**Why the APY moves.** Rewards come from real trading activity, not from printing new
tokens. When trading volume is high, rewards (and APY) go up; when it's quiet, they go
down. This ties staker earnings directly to the platform's actual usage.
</Note>

## Good to know

* **Rewards are paid in PGX.** All collected fees are converted to PGX before being
  distributed to stakers.
* **No new PGX is created to pay you.** Rewards come from real revenue, not inflation:
PGX has a fixed supply. See [PGX Tokenomics](../investors/pgx-tokenomics).
* **Your staked PGX is yours.** Staking is a smart-contract action you control; you can
  withdraw at any time.
