A wallet is a free app that holds your tokens and lets you approve actions on PrigeeX. You only need to set one up once. PrigeeX supports the most popular wallets:
  • MetaMask: the most widely used; browser extension and mobile app
  • Coinbase Wallet: beginner-friendly; note this is self-custody, different from the Coinbase exchange app
  • Any WalletConnect-compatible wallet: Rainbow, Trust Wallet, and many others
If you’re new, MetaMask is the most common choice and works everywhere.

Set up MetaMask (example)

  1. Go to the official site, metamask.io, and install the browser extension or the mobile app. Only ever download from the official site or an official app store.
  2. Follow MetaMask’s official guide to create a new wallet.
  3. You’ll be shown a Secret Recovery Phrase: 12 words. Write these down on paper and store them somewhere safe and private.
  4. Confirm the phrase, and you’re done. Your wallet is ready.

Your Secret Recovery Phrase: read this twice

Your Secret Recovery Phrase (also called a seed phrase) is the master key to your wallet. Whoever has it controls all your funds. So:
  • Never type it into any website, including PrigeeX. You will never need to.
  • Never share it with anyone: no support agent, no “giveaway”, no one. Legitimate services never ask for it.
  • Never store it in a screenshot, an email, or a cloud note. Write it on paper.
  • If you lose it, no one, not PrigeeX, not the wallet maker, can recover your funds.

How a wallet works with PrigeeX

  • It’s your login. Instead of a username and password, you “Connect Wallet”.
  • It’s your account. Your public wallet address (a string starting with 0x...) is where your tokens live. It’s safe to share your address to receive funds.
  • You approve everything. PrigeeX can only propose a transaction; your wallet always pops up asking you to confirm. Nothing happens without your approval.
