Getting started on PrigeeX takes about five minutes. Here’s everything you need before
your first trade.
The short version
- A crypto wallet: a free app like MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet. This is your
account and your login, all in one.
- A little ETH on the Arbitrum network: to pay the small network fee (“gas”) on
each transaction. On Arbitrum this is usually just a few cents.
- Whatever tokens you want to trade: for example some USDC if you want to buy
another token.
That’s it. There is no sign-up form, no email, no password, and no KYC to start.
1. A crypto wallet
Your wallet is like a combination of a bank account and a login button. It holds your
tokens and lets you approve actions on PrigeeX. You stay in full control; PrigeeX
never holds your funds.
If you don’t have one yet, see Set Up a Wallet.
2. A little ETH for gas
Every action on a blockchain (a swap, adding liquidity, staking) needs a tiny
payment to the network to process it. This is called gas,
and it’s always paid in ETH, no matter which tokens you’re trading.
The good news: PrigeeX runs on Arbitrum, a network built to make this cheap. A
typical action costs a few cents rather than the several dollars it might cost on the
main Ethereum network.
You’ll want a small amount of ETH on Arbitrum specifically. See
Get Funds on Arbitrum.
3. Tokens to trade
To buy a token, you need something to buy it with, usually a stablecoin like USDC
(a token designed to always be worth about $1) or ETH. You’ll bring these onto
Arbitrum in the next steps.
Two different things, both needed: ETH for gas (the network fee) and the tokens you
actually want to trade. If you have tokens to trade but zero ETH for gas, your
transactions won’t go through. Always keep a little ETH on hand.
